And a first girlfriend is certainly one of them. I was fortunate to have the most amazing girl as my first girlfriend - I was in grade 10 and she was a year ahead of me. I was too dumb to know how to make a move, so it was a good thing she invited me to a Sadie Hawkins dance.
What a night that was. Vividly remember putting my arms around her for the first time, and holding her hand walking her home. Not to mention that timid first kiss at her door. I can still recall trying to run home in the snow in dress shoes because walking her home (in the opposite direction) was going to make me miss my curfew. Lucked out that a teacher I barely knew offered me a ride part way or I'd have been screwed.
She helped me get through my parents' splitting up, and I'd like to think I helped her with some of her family stuff too. Still instantly think of her when I hear Supertramp.
Have tried a few times over the years to find out more about where she is and what she's up to now, but not much beyond a few details, even though I understand she still lives in my old home town - and was married to a childhood buddy for a time.
So what brought this up today? It's her birthday, February 16. Have trouble remembering some of my nieces' & nephews' b'days, but hers I'm never quite able to forget.
Happy birthday Nancy. Thank you for all the magical memories.
How well do you guys remember your first girlfriend/boyfriend?
My wife and I had our first date on Feb 16th. I think that was 1985 though... :-)

Mine was also named Nancy... And she turned out to be a horrible human being.
They can't all be winners! :)

Awww...there is a reason you're the sweetest guy I know!
I remember every tiny detail about every person I've ever loved.
My brain is just weirdly wired!
